Transformers

Transformers is the name for our Sunday children's work at HBC for kids aged 3-11.  It's called Transformers as part of HBC's vision is to '...be a transforming community.' It involves a mix of fun activities, play and games, good Bible teaching, stories, drama and opportunities to pray for others.  We want it to be the best hour of a child's week.  So what does it look like?

Megamix (10.50–11.10am) It may look like we're just playing, but we're also building relationship, developing friendships, strengthening community, praying for each other, using gifts and abilities for others, learning biblical truths in practical ways.
BIG Time (11.10–11.30am) A Bible teaching session using stories, puppets, dramas and media presentations. It involves fast moving teaching and response.
Small groups (11.30–11.50am) This is a small group time when children have opportunities to continue Bible study, respond to the teaching, pray for each other or maybe express the teaching artistically or dramatically!

Transformers allows us all to use our gifts: great storytellers tell stories, Bible teachers teach and pastoral carers look after and pray for others.

In many ways our vision is in our song:

Transformers... Living our lives for the One True God
Transformers... Following Jesus, praising His name
Transformers... Knowing the bible, standing for Truth
Transformers... Changing the World by showing God's Love

Moving in miracles, filled with His power
Helping the poor and healing the sick
Encounters with God of a powerful kind
Bringing heaven to earth...

Transformers, not conformers
