On face value the invitation of Jesus to become a disciple of his is an offer which cannot be refused. Just consider what Jesus promises us:
- instant forgiveness for all sins,
- instant peace with God and
- instant access to eternal life.
What is the cost? To follow and obey Jesus, who loves you more than you love yourself!
Who, in their right mind, would refuse such an offer?
A lot of people, is the answer!
Clearly, many people do not feel they can take Jesus on face value.
