The International Café is open on Monday evenings, 8-10pm, during the semester. It provides an opportunity for you to meet local British people who are there to make the Café a ‘home away from home’ for you. Almost all of the Café team have lived overseas in the past and so know just what it feels like to be away from friends, family and country! We trust that the Café will be an oasis of support and friendship as well as fun! Every Monday has a different theme. Sometimes we take the opportunity to explain a little more about British culture and customs, sometimes we have events that involve lots of food and sometimes we liven things up with Jazz or Barn dances. We also run occasional trips to local places of interest. The Café is run by a group of Christians from Headington Baptist Church but you don’t have to be a Christian to come. People of all religious backgrounds (or none) are welcome!
The International Café is held in The Community Hall which is in the grounds of Cheney School. You need to enter the school through the gate at the top of Cheney Lane and walk to your left.
