Thursdays 12.00 – 2.00pm during school term-time Light Bite is designed for the over 50s, but anyone is welcome! Lunch is served till 1.00pm. The menu is usually jacket potatoes or rolls with a choice of fillings plus salad, followed by a selection of puddings. Tea and coffee are also served. We invite people to make a donation to cover the cost of the food. Each term we have a programme of activities following the meal at about 1.15pm. On the first Thursday of each month we have Headington Songs of Praise, which includes songs, Bible reading, a short talk and prayers. People are warmly invited to come along to Songs of Praise even if they aren't able to get to the lunch. Other activities include: talks, musical performances, quizzes, board games, reminiscence sessions, crafts etc. A new event in 2009 was a pantomime performed by the Light Bite staff which was greatly enjoyed by both cast and audience – one guest was heard to say that she hadn't laughed so much for ages! For more information please contact Rosemary Sproule via the church office by e-mail or on 763572. < Back to Adults page |
