Occasional meetings as announced Looking at issues of justice and social concern. The Micah Group is a small group of people who are concerned about various issues affecting society – locally, nationally and internationally. We meet from time to time to discuss these things and to see how we can try to help the church to engage with them. Individuals within the group have particular interests such as waste and recycling, debt advice and credit unions. As a group, our main focus has been on trade, justice and the promotion of Fair Trade. We run Fair Trade coffee mornings which attract a good number of people from the local community. At these events we sell fairly traded goods, and serve fairly-traded tea and coffee plus delicious cakes made with fair trade and local ingredients. We also put on Fair Trade Feasts, evening events featuring a three-course dinner made with fairly-traded and local food, served with great style by our volunteer waiting staff. The evenings also include musical entertainment. For more information about the Micah Group, please contact Rachel Edwards-Grundy via the church office by e-mail or on 763572. < Back to Adults page |
